Do you sometimes focus on behaviours but feel unsure what’s really driving them?
Have you ever wondered why some individuals struggle despite strong intentions to change?
When supporting individuals reintegrating into the community, it’s easy to focus on what’s visible. But behaviour is shaped by relationships, systems, risk factors, and structural realities.
With the right framework, you can move from reacting to behaviours to understanding the whole person and where your support truly matters.
What Is This Module About?
This is an 8-hour face-to-face training designed for prison volunteers supporting the reintegration of offenders into the community.
This module introduces a systemic approach using:
The Person-in-Environment (PIE) Model
The Risk-Need-Responsivity (RNR) Framework
A simple Prioritisation Tool for Meaningful Support
You’ll explore how personal history, relationships, community systems, and societal structures interact to influence behaviour and recidivism risk.
How This Course Makes a Difference ?
Reintegration doesn’t happen in isolation — and neither should support.
When volunteers understand systemic influences, support becomes more targeted, compassionate, and sustainable.
This course helps you:
Move from judgment to understanding
Focus on what is realistically changeable
Offer structured support instead of reactive help
Stay within healthy and ethical boundaries
Contribute meaningfully without burnout
