Ever been caught in a moment where you weren’t sure what to say or do?
A request for money. A relapse confession. An expectation you can’t meet. Or sudden silence from someone you’ve been supporting.
These situations are part of real volunteer work and they’re rarely straightforward. This micro-learning module equips you to recognise the complexity of these moments, hear directly from those who’ve navigated them, and reflect on how to uphold your values and boundaries while maintaining trust
What Is This Module About?
This 2-hour asynchronous micro-learning module helps you recognise and respond to common ethical dilemmas in volunteer work without losing empathy or professionalism. Through video-based lived experience sharings, reflection prompts, and scenario-based activities, you will learn to:

Hear from experienced volunteers on how they balance care with clear boundaries
Reflect on your own approach to ensure you protect both the relationship and your role
